19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid year, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks his maiden title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first tour title, took control to create a final set.
He saved 4 early chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
